While we all recover from the Beast from the East and the worst snow we have seen in quite a while, we thought it was the perfect time to post what must have been one of our coldest ever family photo shoots.Read More
We love spending time at Hubbard's Hills in Louth. It is one of those places where all you need is a picnic and some sunshine and you can enjoy a whole day of family fun. During summer, as we were preparing to go out for a picnic, Carl discovered a roll of expired film in a drawer, so it became the perfect excuse for a spontaneous photo shoot. We grabbed the camera, put in the film and off we went.Read More
We had the pleasure of photographing family portraits of Nicky Carly & Frank a little while back.
We shot these portraits at their Lincolnshire home. With Carly having additional needs, photographing her in her own environment helped both her and Nicky relax. It also meant we got to meet Frank, their gorgeous, but slightly boisterous dog, who played the role of the loveable rogue throughout the shoot. He did however do as he was told at the very end of the shoot, which allowed us to capture the four legged member of the family (after bribing him with an appropriate amount of treats).Read More
Tom & Kelly first met at school, in fact they met at the same school where Tom now works as a teacher.
Their beautiful Lincolnshire wedding took place at Kenwick Park Hotel in Louth. This was the first time we had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Kenwick Park and we hope it will not be our last. We arrived as we normally do, at the start of bridal preparations. The atmosphere had that sparkle that, luckily, we as wedding photographers get to experience at every wedding. It is so special being invited into the inner sanctum of a wedding day, capturing the bride and her best of friends at their most intimate point of the day.Read More
Sometimes, it feels like there are never enough hours in the day. I'm sure it's not just us who feels this way. Since our son was born, time seems to gone by even faster.
This month he turns 5 and yet it only feels like yesterday we were bringing him home from hospital for the very first time.
I guess this is why our clients are so happy when they receive their prints. A photo freezes a snapshot of time, one that will never happen again, but can instantly be relived, even in our incresingly busy lives.
While we sit here typing this blog post, Lisa looked up to the prints of our son on the wall, taken a year apart and said "you never see the change day to day, it's only when you look back."
As he approaches his birthday, it's good to look back on those photos. If only to remind us when he is playing up that actually, he is an amazing little man that never fails to make us smile, laugh and astonish us every day.
It's such a great week for us here at 166 Photography. Not only do we photograph our first wedding of the year on Saturday, we also have one of gorgeous weddings from last year featured over on the amazing Plans & Presents blog.

It’s always great to arrive at the home of a bride’s parents on the morning of a wedding and instantly be made to feel welcome.
We arrived at Emily’s mums house in Woodall Spa and even though things were already in full flow (they had been since 7am). We immediately got work capturing the beautiful bridal preparations. As with almost every wedding, this involved a mixture of in jokes with bridesmaids, laughter and a couple of tears. There was a slight moment of panic when Emily’s mum lost her iPhone, but after the offending device was found safe and sound, the calmness returned. The morning had that feeling of not quite calm, but perfectly relaxed, which sums up Emily & Pete as a couple.Read More
