It’s always great to arrive at the home of a bride’s parents on the morning of a wedding and instantly be made to feel welcome.
We arrived at Emily’s parents house in Woodall Spa and even though things were already in full flow (they had been since 7am) we were made to feel instantly welcome. We immediately got work capturing the beautiful bridal preparations. As with all great weddings, this involved a mixture of in jokes with bridesmaids, laughter and a couple of tears. There was a slight moment of panic when Emily’s mum lost her iPhone, but after the offending device was found safe and sound, the calmness returned. The morning had that feeling of not quite calm, but perfectly relaxed, which sums up Emily & Pete as a couple.
We left Emily's family home in Woodall Spa for the beautiful setting of Tattersall Castle, where we arrived just before Pete. We felt so lucky to photograph at such a wonderful wedding location as Tattersall Castle. We always love photographing at National Trust venues around Lincolnshire. The sense of history and stunning surroundings is something that can never get boring. What made it even better was the beautiful Friday weather (which would be replaced Saturday morning by torrential rain).
Emily arrived to the castle, looking beautiful and made her entrance. The ceremony was beautiful and included the couple reading their own vows. The tears and laughter flowed and the ceremony was beautiful. We then got to spend some time in and around the beautiful surroundings Tattershall Castle with the newlyweds before heading (via a beautiful riverbank location) to the gorgeous Abbey Farm in Woodall Spa for the reception.
The beautiful blue skies allowed everyone to enjoy the outdoor space at Abbey Farm well into the evening. The beautiful wedding breakfast, lovingly prepared by Black Peppermint Food Co. was followed by the speeches which gave way to an evening of Ceilidh dancing. This was our first introduction to the world of Ceilidh, but it was great to see everybody twirling and made for a great alternative to a traditional wedding band and made for some amazing photos. We left everybody dancing the night away, smiling at the fact we got to capture a beautiful day with a very special couple.
A beautiful wedding in a Lincolnshire castle, with perfect weather and a laid back couple. This is one of the days that makes us remember the reason we love this job!
