So as Sunday came around, we were back in the studio, less than 24 hours since Andy and his wife's family first came through the doors.
Today was Andy's own family, which added one more generation in the form on Nan. Once again we managed to secure some great portraits of the different groups and once again we explained our idea for an alternative generational portrait.
As a photographer, sometimes it is hard persuading people to go along with an idea. Stand there hold this and I promise you the result will look amazing. As a photographer, I had the idea in my head for a while and having done something similar with an advertising photography job, I knew the idea would work. It is easy to forget that our clients haven't seen the job in question and that it is a question of trust between you and your photographer.
Having a client like Andy was great, he had faith in our ideas. Everybody put their all into the photo shoot and everyone was happy with the results. I got to put a long held idea into practice and they got a unique family portrait to treasure.
The generation portraits were the first thing we delivered from these shoots. Their reaction meant that it was all worthwhile!
